Like in all the parts of Italy, the art of cooking in Florence
is characterized by the capacity to turn poor ingredients in
exceptional dishes. Here a short list of the florence
restaurants that we have reviewed:
Restaurant La Beppa Fioraia
In the quarter of San Niccolò, the restaurant lay on
the hill under the Piazzale Michelangelo, and is reacheable
by foot from the city centre (10 minutes walking from Piazza
Santa Croce). The atmosphere is simple and cosy, in a
large "veranda" with the tables and coloured chairs,
the tables are probably a bit close together, like in the most
part of Florence restaurants. The restaurant is attendend both
by florentines and foreigners (this is usually the first measure
of quality).
Dishes are from the tuscan tradition with mediterranean flavours,
and the menù can offer a different selection of dishes
depending from the season products. The restaurant, only for
dinner, can offer the pizza cooked in a wood oven. Prices are
medium, approximately 30 € per person, depending from the
dishes and from the wine, remember that here you are in the
centre of Florence and that the quality of the food is good.

Trattoria Cavolo Nero
Elegant restaurant in heart of the quarter of San Frediano.
The kitchen of the Cavolo Nero offers dishes, from meat to fish,
with excellent quality of the ingredients all cooked starting
from the tradition of florence and italia enriched with creativity.
The service is up to the kitchen and with the atmosphere contributes
to creating a unique experience. Prices are not very low, concording
with the quality of the food and with the quality of the services.

Restaurant Da Pennello
Near of the Casa di Dante ( house of Dante) the restaurant is
one of the oldest Florence restaurants. The atmosphere is familiar
and the service is good. The kitchen offers many traditional
dishes as the pasta fresca (handmade pasta) and the grilled
meat, all well cooked. Prices are medium.
